02122008 ( tuesday): Techniques in Extemporaneous Preparation
2 preparations to be done in 2 hours, with full report.
first time having practical test, so was abit hasty.
quarantined at Q616,
and everyone started going through all the procedures before going test.
ended up some of us went around the lab looking for all the lab equipments we usually use,
coz it is concluded that those that are not present in Q616 would be the ones used for test.
hahahhha.
anyway,
2 preparations,
1 solution, 1 cream.
solution was fine while doing preparation, except the last part.
coz it is syrup base, means we have to hold the cylinder for a longer period of time to let the syrup finish flowing out.
in order to save time, we were taught to use retort stand to hold the cylinder.
but i gave that idea up.
didn't even know how to use it in the beginning.
if act clever use that,
i think i will be paying for not only a broken cylinder.
but the labelling was -.-
paracetamol elixir to be taken qid
meant paracetamol elixir to be taken FOUR TIMES DAILY!!!!!
not EVERY FOUR HOURS!!!!!
so.. it just meant i overdose my patient,
and maybe a zero liao..

2nd preparation was cream.
everything do so nicely.
everything went so well,
until i weighed my final product and realise was underweight.
dont know what to do.
ended up taking more cream and mixing it with my product,
while pressing my calculator to find out how much more cream do i need.
hahha.
hope tt preparation turn out ok.

05122008 (friday): Pharmacotherapy
the test was divided into two portion,
theory and oral.
theory was plain chiong-ing 2 case studies in 35 minutes.
and oral..
got Ms Evonne Ong.
OMG.
feared taking her most, and got her.
need to teach her how to use inhaler,
and i missed out some important points that i did not counsel her about.
lol.
09122008 (tuesday): Medical Microbiology
it's all about bacteria and viruses again. virulence factors, characteristics, diseases caused and pathogenesis of don't-know-how-many bacteria.
paper was alright for structure questions, but so???
only constitute 10 marks!!!!
MCQ took 40 marks lei!!!
and i just bullshit MCQs.
not all, but enough to pull my grade down.

yups. marketing again.
but there wasn't much content to study.
so the paper wasn't that bad.
at least i think.
after all, most of the contents went into me quite easily,
hence did not give me much trouble.
hahha.
anyway, hope i score well ba.

one word to describe: BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!
yeah.
that was what i was doing througout the whole paper.
what i studied -- contact lenses,
don't-know-how-many vitamins, RICE treatment...
everything didn't come out.

what came out?
5 brand names for ulcer treatment product,
brand of product used to treat cold sores, etc.
everyone went blank lo!
MCQ die, structure die, whole paper die

spending whole night on 11 chapters wasn't fun.
constant waking up and dozing off halfway when studying is not fun either.
but, i guess this paper can pass.
i mean,
pass is not the problem,
the grade is the problem.
thanks to the guidelines given,
or i would not have finished everything in one night.
similarly to other papers, there were questions which i thought would not come out,
but came out in the end.
but anway,
let's just hope for the best.

i admit.
although it takes a higher credit and weighs 20% of overall,
med chem is the module which i slacked most when studying.
still can ask jie jie to help me paint my nails while studying lo.
oops!
hahaha.
anyway,
the paper was considered fine,
except for the percentage ionization question.
don't know what am i doing for the basic enviroment.
haish.
and the worst question to come out,
was the R and S configurations!!!!!!!!!
sucked at it the most,
and it consist 4 marks.
thanks ah!
